039-webBenjamin is unique in his own right; his dynamic thinking and hard approach towards challenges produce an inspirational, humorous and applauding Seminar/Keynote Presentation.

After failing to achieve the desired results at school started his career at the early age of 16, by joining a military college, within his years within the forces he not only travelled Europe and Canada, but represented his regiment and corps at Rugby, Athletics and Cross Country. Shortly after leaving his tour of Northern Ireland, he decided to pursue his dream to become a business owner.

Starting all over again, he worked as a dishwasher, security guard and trainee estate agent but his determination and dedication allowed him to open his own estate agency within 4 years only to sell it several months later.

His entrepreneurial approach towards life has made him a favourable speaker among the corporate arena and motivational columnist for international self help magazines. His “Discover The Secret Weapon Within…” seminars have been a success in their own right, providing listeners with the inspirational tools, motivation and the self belief that anything is possible.

His Winning Formula:

Positive Affirmation + Massive Action = Unbelievable Results.

His book “Don’t Struggle Quietly” is due to be released early next year, which highlights the key principles of self success, he notes: “if you want to be truly successful you need to learn something new everyday, be positive about negative results and take massive action to achieve goals”.

The most effective goals are “SMART goals”. SMART is an acronym, and exactly what it stands for depends on who you ask – but here’s my version:

• SPECIFIC – instead of saying “earn more money” say “increase my salary by 15%”. Wherever possible, include NAMES, NUMBERS – ways to measure if you’re getting closer to your goal or not.

• MEASUREABLE – try to express your goal in ways that can be verified beyond opinion. So, rather than saying “be happier” you might decide to record your happiness levels in a diary each day as a score out of 10, then – when you know what it averages at – you goal can be “increase my average happiness score from 6 to 8″.

• ACTION ORIENTED – set goals which you can map into actions. Look at the happiness goal example above. Before setting such a goal it’s best to have some idea of what you will do to maker that goal happen. It’s OK to try the goal on with no clue – and then have at it with your creativity – and find some actions. but don’t have a long-standing goal which you have no idea how to achieve.

• REALISTIC – now coaches will tell you, you can have anything you like and it’s probably true. But a goal is at its most useful when it’s not too far ahead. When you get there, you can set another one, and in this way, the goal plausibility will keep you working for it. So don’t say “become millionaires in six minutes” say “increase my disposable income by £400 a month within 12 months”.

• TIME ORIENTED – Deadlines focus the mind, and time frames are a good way to gauge how realistic something is. Set times which are a little bit … tingly – but not laughable or terrifying? With our happiness goal example, you might add a deadline to it.

Polish your Goals

One of the things I do with clients is to help them polish their goals. Your goals should inspire you. They should remind you of the fantastic new future you have waiting for you. You’ll be waving goodbye to the things you hate and saying hello to the things you love. Paint vivid pictures of how it will be. Put yourself in the scene. See, hear, taste, smell and feel it. Look out of the window. Sit in the comfy chair. Look out the window at the view. When you can see it and you believe you can grasp it – you’ll have the energy to make it real.

Keeping The Faith

Well, the fact is – it’s much harder to make positive change than we expect or prefer it to be. But it’s possible. What’s needed is persistent focus and effort and some smarts around the strategy.
Have fun with your goals!

Negative Thoughts –

Can you really do anything with a positive attitude?

No! Sorry, yes positive thinking assists and helps achieve Realistic goals,

I for example have one of the worst singing voices in the “world” and no matter how much positive thinking apply to having the best, it is unlikely to change. “Yes” I can go to singing classes, but I am not the next Michael Buble.

Self Honesty

If you have your goal, understand “why” you want it, and adapt your goal to your realistic ability,

Use Your Negative Thoughts

We all have positive and negative thoughts; use the negative thoughts with the positive ones, if you “can’t” (negative words) find out why and learn from it.

Use all the tools everyday in every environment

The Word “NO”

Start saying “NO” – Try it out the next time that you ask yourself are to do something that you are unable to do say “NO”

Find others to assist you achieve the “NO” and not only are you likely to achieve the result you want, but gain confidence, respect and enjoy the journey.

How Does This Work

Entrepreneurs for years have been using the skills of others to make their millions. I know thousands of people who are better than me at a number of tasks, so why not team up with them to achieve my goal???

By saying “NO” when you’re a little out of your depth, increases your chances of achieving the objective.

Turn your “NO” into a positive “YES”

” I challenge you to make your life a masterpiece. I challenge you to join the ranks of those people who live what they teach, who walk their talk.” Anthony Robbins

Raise Your LIFE Bar:

During your early years you would have enforced fundamental personal expectations within your mind, including wealth, lifestyle, image, beliefs, goals and many others. Some push you forward; others hold you back. To achieve ultimate fulfillment you must remove the limiting beliefs and replace them with new goals and challenges. The MIND spring clean!

Keep the Secret “YOUR” Secret:

Have you ever experienced the urge to tell someone something that your doing, although its not 100% guaranteed you will achieve it?

Once you have set new goals, keep them a Secret.

By telling others your secrets and goals, adds additional pressure to the situation. Unfortunately “some” always think on the negative side of life, by allowing them to add their view on the situation subjects you to unnecessary “feedback”.

Tell them once you have achieved your goal and see the results.

Remember “There is ONLY feedback, NEVER failure”!

It’s your LIFE, Isn’t IT?

Complete the following questions and act on them. It’s only YOU that can make a change. If you don’t change you won’t see change! It’s as simple as that.

EMPOWER YOUR LIFE NOW!

• What sort of life do you want?

• Where do you want to live?

• Who with?

• Are you doing a job you love?

• What would happen if you couldn’t fail?

• What you really want?’

Once you have established the answers to the questions above, write out how you are going to achieve them!

“It’s true what they say; we have a choice how we live. I was holding onto the past because I was scared of the unknown, the truth is the unknown is what we want to create.” Mrs B – Full Time Mother

I know personally what it can feel like to stand in front of people, feeling completely out of place, the adrenaline takes over, the butterflies in the stomach, the nervous change in the tone of the voice and the repetition of words.

Having to stand in front of 3 or 300 and make a speech or presentation can, without doubt, cripple a person’s confidence: the thought of having to make a speech or presentation often is more fearful than making the speech itself. For many under-confident speakers, the fear is because, suddenly, you are the centre of attention.

It’s proven that public speaking is one of the most common fears across the world, and the biggest concern when making speeches or presentations.
Having the mental and emotional skill-set to deliver a powerful motivational speech, will build confidence, defeat doubt and negate the beast of fear.

Its Your Audience

At what stage does the audience cause a problem?

Perhaps you feel self-conscious and the attention that you are suddenly receiving becomes a pressure to perform, to meet the expectancy of the audience.

You feel that you will be judged by the audience and made to feel a fool and that in the spotlight your personal world is suddenly open to scrutiny. Thus, the speaker in an act of self-protection, becomes defensive about making the speech, so that previous wounds don’t get re-opened.
In a one on one, or small group situation, a speaker can adjust what they are saying to meet the responses of the individual/s and make sure their needs are addressed.

In a speech, you can’t neutralise the individual quite so easily, and very often this is the unspoken fear of the unconfident speaker. In an audience situation, everything gets amplified, so if one person starts to become unsettled and say, argumentative, you worry and suspect that this will spread like a virus to the rest of the audience.

This can produce a very great internal pressure. Or, the performer can become highly sensitive to potential audience reaction.

• Will they judge me?
• Will they criticise me?
• What if they don’t listen?

These ‘what if’s’ dominate the unconfident speakers thoughts, and eat away at their confidence, and make the speech or performance an exercise in personal torture.
Our one to one sessions directly addresses these issues, to give the speaker a better perspective on the task in hand, plus immediate access to the arts and skills required to make a great speech or presentation.

What Will The Programme Do?

Our One to One Programme is designed to build confidence and defeat doubt by:

• Guiding the speaker through the psychological minefield of how to think about the audience.
• Learning the inner arts of tone, rhythm and projection that form the foundation of great delivery.
• Discovering the secrets of the top ten tips that make great speeches.
• Learning how to relax both in advance and during the presentation.
• Being able to write and deliver your own motivational speech.

By the end of the process, each person will have designed and delivered their very own motivational speech.

Who Is It For?

The programme will be of benefit to both individuals and leaders and managers at all levels of the organization, especially:

• Those who feel anxious or uncomfortable, when they learn that they will present in front of others.
• Those who attempt to avoid giving presentations, if they can get out of doing them.
• Those who worry that others will criticise them, when they make presentations.
• Those who are afraid to let others see, that they feel fear and vulnerability.
• Those who worry that they will dry up, when they make a speech.
• Those who feel that they will lose credibility, if they make an ineffective speech.
• Those who worry, that others will ask them questions that they can’t answer.

The Delivery

The programme can be delivered on a one to one personal coaching basis, or in one day group format.

I have noticed an increase in calls over the last few weeks from executives and entrepreneurs who are worried about their fate in this economic climate.

Below are 8 Steps to increase your chances of survival

Step 1 – Take Time Out And Plan…

With talk of an economic recession or downturn looming, you shouldn’t wait until later to decide what to do. Begin planning now for the possibility of things getting worse.

Now a recession is an economic term that means 2 consecutive periods of negative growth. In other words, GDP falls twice, one right after the other.

The feeling of a recession, which is a period of economic decline and slow down is very real. In other words, it feels like a recession and we’re suffering. So I say to forget the technical definition and look at things from your own perspective.

If you feel you’re doing all right financially, then plan ahead for the possibility things take a turn for the worse. And if you’re already suffering financially, then start thinking about how to handle it if it lasts longer or gets worse.

Step 2 – Talk To Others

An economic downturn, slowdown, and recession effect many people! So take some comfort in knowing you are, by far, not alone. The reason I mention this is to help ease your level of stress. If you’re suffering financially, others are too!

But to survive, you cannot brood over it and let it take over your life. Why not? Because that will make you even more depressed and does more harm than good. So just look at it from the perspective that others are in the same position and life goes on.

The economy goes through ups and down, so we all in our lifetimes go through this.

If you require a better understanding of how this is effecting you call us on 0845 194 9644

Step 3 Know Your Income and Expenses

There are many of us who know how much we’re bring home in pay and other sources of income. But lots don’t realize how much they’re spending on things. Yes, we know the major expenses like: rent or mortgage payments, utilities, and car and student loans. But the little ones can really eat up your savings and take-home pay!

Make an accurate list of what you take in (income) and exactly what you spend it on(expenses). And track all your expenses, not just the biggies.

This means including things like: coffee, partying, movies and rentals, gas, etc. As I said before, these are the ones that really add-up and eat into your savings. Most people are shocked at how much they’re really spending when they see this list.

You wouldn’t do this with your business, so why with your personal finances.

Step 4 – Debt Really Is Your Enemy

Debt is money that you owe, meaning bills. Now there “good bills” and “bad ones.”

The good ones are those that are necessities, like rent and utilities. In order to live, you have no choice but to spend money on these.

But where we get ourselves into trouble is with the bad ones. These are the luxuries such as the finance deal on the new sofa, buy now pay later, the new TV for Christmas, “its only £100 per month”….

And credit card debt is the true evil that gets most of us into major league trouble! We tend to look at is as “free money.” In other words, it’s not our money, it’s the credit card’s! So we’ll very easily overspend and live way beyond our means.

So control your credit card debt. If the credit card company wants to raise your limit, don’t go out and spend it. Just because you have a £2000 limit doesn’t mean you have to spend it. Only use it when absolutely necessary! Keep them as a back up if things really go bad.

Step 5 – Your Personal Account – Debit Cards

As opposed to credit cards, debit cards work a bit differently. The major difference is that they aren’t loans like credit cards! When you use a debit card, money it taken out directly from your bank account. So if you don’t have it in your account, it’s unavailable. This gives people a huge dose of reality and helps control spending. Why? Because you won’t spend it if you don’t have it. And you’ll very easily see your balance dropping when you do use it.

With credit cards, you don’t have to worry about money being taken out of your bank account immediately. Nor do you have to pay the full amount when the bill comes. You can pay the minimum. And that’s how you get yourself into financial trouble. Because you look at it this way!

And of course, credit card companies will raise your limit even if you have lousy credit and way overspend. Why? Because you’ll pay the minimum and drag it out for 100 years of outrageous interest rates! So you’re like gold to them. Don’t fall for it and cater to them!

And if you have a debit card with the Visa or Mastercard logo, then they work just like credit cards in the sense that stores can swipe them as they would a credit card. In addition, you can withdraw money from ATM machines without the cash advance fees associated with credit cards. And many banks don’t charge ATM fees if you use your debit card at their branches. This helps save you even more money!

Step 6 – Set A Plan To Repay The Debt NOW!

Let’s say you have £5,000 in credit card debt and pay £50 a month towards it. If you increase your payment, even a little bit, you’ll save lots of money in the end! And that’s because the interest you’re accruing is being reduced.

You see, it’s not the £5,000 that’s the trouble. It the never-ending interest being added to it that really gets most people. And even with a low interest, you’re still accruing it and paying on it every single time you send in a partial payment. So increasing your payment amounts by a little or a lot more will cut your interest and get you paid off much sooner!

And this same principle applies to all forms of debt: car loans, student loans, personal loans, etc.

With debit cards, you don’t have to worry about this because no interest is accruing! When you use the card, the full amount is immediately deducted. So if you spend £25, then £25 is taken out.

Step 7 – Better Your Home Life

You’d be surprised at how much you can save by eating in! It’s far less expensive to buy food at the store and cook it at home than to eat out. Now by buying food, I don’t mean a meal and then reheating it home. I mean buying packaged goods that you’ll cook.

In other words, things like: soups, pasta, meat, fish, veggies, etc. And if you buy in bulk the things you really like, that will save you even more money.

Enjoy, going to the supermarket, and look at the specials at the deli counter, you will be surprised how many “quality” fillet steaks you can pick up, make certain “nights” your night to cook. Use your imagination and keep to a budget. “M&S weekend meal for 2” awesome deal even includes a bottle of wine…

So you’ll save a good deal of money by eating more at home.

Now I’m not saying to eat in all the time, unless you want to. Just swapping 1 home-cooked meal for a non-home-cooked one will save you money. You can do the same with work. Instead of eating out every day, bring your food once in a while or each day. Make pasta at home the night before, take it to work, guarantee others will follow the suit..

Step 8 – We All Love Coffee

I recently worked out that 2 coffees a day on average at my local C*t*a was costing me a whopping £2000 per year, but taking an “expensive jar coffee” I could save over £1500 per year alone on coffee.

In other words, there are many ways to cut down the amount you spend on drinks. And every little bit you save helps you ride out the economic hard times! Remember, it’s the little bit you save here and there that really adds-up to lots!

Employers often times want to empower their employees, but they don’t always know quite how to go about it. Empowering employees is crucial to the survival, expansion and growth of your business. It not only creates employee satisfaction but increases productivity and morale. Here are five tips to empower your employees.

Ask for input.

It can be hard to ask for ideas and suggestions from staff members if your department isn’t used to working together on projects as a team. But, who knows your customers better than the employees who interact with them on a daily basis? And for internal issues, employees are in the midst of the daily activities and can contribute valuable information for making things better. These employees know what will work both internally and externally to make everyone happy. By allowing all your employees to actively add input, you will not only add value to your clients, but you will add value to your staff as well.

Reinforce with positive feedback.

Make sure your employees know when they have done a job well. Many employers may avoid consistently giving positive feedback to employees because they believe employees are just doing their jobs and shouldn’t require recognition. However, employees often become unmotivated when they hear only negative feedback. Employees who feel respected and valued within their departments will perform better on their tasks and are more likely to stay loyal to your company.

Designate leaders.

It is important to delegate projects and tasks to individual employees and give them authority over specific projects because it gives them a sense of value within the organization. They begin to see the goals of the company more clearly and feel more a part of the process. Assign projects to high-performing employees and make them leaders on individual tasks. This will not only help alleviate your own workload, but it also gives your employees an opportunity to shine.

Mentor your employees.

The most successful companies are the ones that invest in their most valuable assets, their people. Investing in your employees’ developmental growth not only benefits them, but it also benefits your company. Instead of focusing on just being their boss or managing your team, try being your employees’ mentor. Focus on coaching them to success. Help them achieve not only the department or company goals, but their personal career goals as well. Find out where they want to be in the next year, or even five years, and help them achieve their goals by giving them the tools they need to develop and become successful.

Encourage open communication.

Make sure that you clearly communicate your goals, projects and ideas, and encourage your employees do the same. Establish an environment where employees are comfortable expressing their comments and feel free to experiment with new ideas. Encourage your employees to contribute in brainstorming activities and commend them for their feedback. This will generate new ideas and establish a more team-oriented atmosphere.

Empowering your employees doesn’t have to be difficult. By following these five tips, you will start to see a difference in your employees’ attitudes, improved respect among co-workers and an increase in productivity. Employers will also see leaders rising to the challenges of more responsibility and a sense of ownership and pride in their employees’ work.
